A thought.............

At first I thought you might have a good idea in pulling for an Obama victory. Another fake conservative like Bush or McCain would keep turning up the heat slowly and cooking us before we realized it, but a radical like Hillary or Obama would wake us up with their loony plans.

But the more I learn about Obama, I'm afraid he's going to govern from the center. His record as the editor of the Harvard Law Review shows he reached out to conservatives in the Federalist Society there, while pacifying more leftist elements. An Obama administration might just continue the Neocon agenda, increasing the power of the federal government, violating our rights, and expand foreign wars to justify even more powerful control over us.

Then we would be screwed.

I would absolutely love to see the emergence of a strong third party in America. Unfortunately, the Rs and Ds make it nearly impossible for a third party to emerge.

Here's a shameless plug for my blog ;-) with a related story about the lack of third political parties in America: http://dontconfusemewiththefacts.blogspot.com/2008/11/two-party-political-monopoly-in.html

In my opinion, the Republicans are the new Democrats and the Democrats are the new socialists.

I'm now off to see about getting my piece of the "bailout pie."

I think your op on the Dems = Socialists and Pubs = Dems may be accurate. But I say no fear.

There is plenty of dissent emanating from both sides. Hell, 46% of the people voted for McCain, and he definitely was not much loved.

What was Mc's ace in the hole? Palin of course. Liberty, Freedom, and family and God. Still powerful rallying points for middle America.

No surrender ...

I am in no way surrendering. I'm just getting warmed up for what's ahead. I want things in this country to be much different for my 2 beautiful little children when they become adults.

I agree, "resist any entity that fears free me." Good words to live by.
